Skylab Studio in Joshua Tree, California is a thriving independent recording studio located in close proximity to Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriets (Pioneertown), and the shops and restaurants of Yucca Valley. Since 2001, Skylab has worked with professional and emerging artists. Productions made here have been featured on radio, in films, video games and broadcast television. We are located 30 minutes from Palm Springs airport and just over 2 hours from Los Angeles.

Skylab's HD Pro Tools based system is combined with the best of digital and analog technologies. The studio features multiple tracking areas as well as a diverse variety of amps and instruments. All channels at Skylab run through analog equipment to create warm, transparent and highly dimensional recordings. Ultra-Premium “New Old Stock” tubes from the 1950s and 1960s are used for all critical recording applications. Skylab offers full live tracking capabilities alongside top names in the recording industry like Neuman, Universal Audio, Neve, Telefunken, mogami and more.
Where you'll stay
Lodging options include a fully restored 1953 Spartan mobile home trailer ($75 per night) or you can stay directly at the studio at no additional cost. The studio features a kitchenette, full bathroom with shower and is close to nearby shops, bars and restaurants. For those seeking a real taste of all that Joshua Tree has to offer, Our beautifully restored Spartan trailer is located a short drive from the studio and brings a unique 1950s inspired feel and is located just minutes from downtown Joshua Tree, the Joshua Tree Saloon and Joshua Tree National Park.
